"I brought in an old Seiko that had been sitting in a drawer for about eight years. Sakda checked it over and was upfront that the mainspring was weakening — not something I had expected. He explained the options clearly and I decided to go ahead with the full cleaning. It runs noticeably better now and I actually wear it again."

"I had my father's old Omega done here — full restoration. Sakda called me partway through to discuss the crystal before replacing it, which I really appreciated. The final result was excellent. The movement runs accurately and the case looks clean without being over-polished. Genuinely careful work."

"I was not sure if my watch needed a service or not, so I started with the Quick Care Check. Anucha explained what Sakda had found clearly and confirmed that the timing was within acceptable range — no service needed at this point. That honesty makes me much more confident about coming back when it does need work."

"Found Sakda through a forum recommendation. Dropped in two watches — one vintage Citizen and one modern ETA movement. Both came back well within the estimated time, and the condition reports were useful. One watch had a worn jewel that he flagged but didn't push me to replace yet. That kind of measured advice is exactly what I want."

"I was visiting from Bangkok and brought a small vintage piece for a check-up. They kept me updated by message as promised and had it ready the day after I left, so I arranged a pickup on my next visit. Very smooth and professional — I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area who takes their watches seriously."

"Had a Longines from the 1970s done here. The movement was in worse shape than expected, but Sakda walked me through what was needed at each stage. The timeline was longer than originally estimated because of additional parts — he told me as soon as he knew, and the price matched what we had agreed. No nasty surprises."

Three cases, from start to finish

A closer look at how some jobs have come together.

A family Seiko in need of more than a clean

Situation

A customer brought in a Seiko 5 that belonged to his late father. The watch had been stored unworn for roughly 12 years and was running unpredictably — sometimes stopping overnight, sometimes gaining over a minute per day.

What we did

After the Quick Care Check confirmed the movement was worth servicing, a full cleaning and lubrication followed. During disassembly, a cracked cannon pinion was found — the owner was contacted before sourcing a replacement. Total time: eight days including timing test.

Result

Movement running at –3 seconds per day across multiple positions — well within acceptable range for this calibre. Customer now wears the watch regularly. A piece with real sentimental value is back in use.

Vintage Longines — movement and case together

Situation

A 1970s Longines with a scratched case and a movement that had not been serviced since the watch was purchased. The owner wanted the watch wearable again but was uncertain about how much refinishing to do — some wear felt appropriate to the age.

What we did

Movement serviced first, timed for seven days before case work began. Case brushing was light on the lugs — preserving character — with a more thorough clean on the bezel and caseback. Crystal polished rather than replaced. Total: three weeks.

Result

Movement stable at –2 to +4 seconds depending on position and activity. Case looks freshened without looking new. The owner felt the result respected the watch's age rather than erasing it.

A quick check that saved an unnecessary service

Situation

A Pattaya resident came in concerned that his everyday automatic was running slow. He had been told by a friend that it "probably needed a service" but was not sure it was worth the cost.

What we did

The Quick Care Check measured the rate over two days. The movement was running at –8 seconds per day — slow but within tolerable range given it was an entry-level automatic. Crown and gasket were fine. No service was recommended at this time.

Result

The customer saved the cost of an unnecessary service and left with a clear note of the rate to compare against next year. He was glad to have a second opinion before committing to a larger spend.
