1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following words have the meanings set out below:
- "Sakda Kala", "we", "us", "our" — Sakda Kala watch repair workshop, located at 305 Beach Road, Pattaya, Chonburi 20150, Thailand.
- "Service" — any watch inspection, cleaning, repair, movement service, or refinishing work carried out by Sakda Kala.
- "Customer", "you", "your" — the individual or entity that brings a watch for servicing or makes an enquiry through this website.
- "Watch" — the timepiece or horology item deposited with us for servicing.
- "Agreement" — these Terms and Conditions together with any written service estimate provided to you.
- "Website" — the website operated at sakdakal.cyou.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By depositing a watch with us, contacting us via the website, or requesting a service quotation, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions and agree to be bound by them.
Our services are available to individuals aged 18 and over who are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement. By proceeding, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Service Description
Sakda Kala offers hands-on watch repair and servicing at our Pattaya workshop. Our current service range is:
- Quick Care Check (฿2,490) — a short inspection covering timing, crown and seal condition, and a light external clean, concluding with honest advice on whether further work is worthwhile.
- Movement Cleaning & Lubrication (฿5,400) — a focused cleaning and re-lubrication service for mechanical watches, including movement inspection and a written note of anything to monitor.
- Restoration & Refinishing (฿8,400) — a combined movement service and careful case and crystal refinishing for older pieces, paced over several days with customer consultation before any component is replaced.
All services are carried out in person at our workshop. We do not offer postal or collection services unless separately agreed in writing.
4. Service Estimates and Scope
Quotations and estimates provided before work begins are based on the information available at that time. If, during the course of work, additional issues are discovered that fall outside the agreed scope, we will pause and contact you before proceeding. No additional costs will be incurred without your prior approval.
Where replacement parts are required, we will advise you of the options available. We will not substitute components without your knowledge.
5. Customer Responsibilities
When leaving a watch in our care, you confirm that:
- You are the owner of the watch or have clear authority from the owner to authorise service.
- You have disclosed any known damage, prior repairs, or special characteristics of the watch that may be relevant to the work.
- You accept that servicing older or previously modified watches carries inherent risk and that we will take all reasonable precautions.
- You will collect the watch within 30 days of notification that the work is complete. We reserve the right to charge reasonable storage fees for uncollected items beyond this period.
You agree not to use our Website in any way that is unlawful, harmful, or disruptive to our services.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on this Website — including text, images, design, and layout — is owned by or licensed to Sakda Kala. You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, or commercially exploit any part of it without our written permission.
Nothing in these Terms grants you any licence to use our name, logo, or branding.
7. Payment Terms
All prices are quoted in Thai Baht (฿) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Payment is due in full upon collection of the watch. We accept cash and major debit or credit cards.
For the Restoration & Refinishing service, we may request a deposit of up to 50% of the agreed price before work begins, particularly where specialist parts need to be ordered.
If a customer declines to proceed after an inspection has been carried out, a bench fee of ฿500 may apply to cover the time spent on assessment.
8. Service-Specific Terms
Turnaround times: Estimated completion times are provided in good faith but are not contractually binding. Watch servicing is meticulous work, and some jobs — particularly older movements or those requiring parts — take longer than initially anticipated. We will keep you informed of any changes.
Parts and components: Where original manufacturer parts are unavailable, we will discuss suitable alternatives with you. We will not fit non-original parts without your consent.
Water resistance: Unless the Restoration & Refinishing service is chosen and seal replacement is explicitly agreed, we do not test or re-certify water resistance. If water resistance matters to you, please raise this when depositing your watch.
Pre-existing damage: We photograph all watches on receipt. If pre-existing damage is observed, we will note it and show it to you. We cannot accept responsibility for damage that was present before the watch was left with us.
9. Disclaimers
Our services are provided with care and skill, but watchmaking involves inherent variables — particularly with vintage, modified, or worn movements. We do not make any representation that a specific level of accuracy, water resistance, or longevity will be achieved following service.
The information on our Website is provided for general guidance only and does not constitute professional horological advice for your specific watch. We recommend discussing your watch's needs directly with us.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Thai law, Sakda Kala's liability to you in connection with any service or use of this Website is limited to the amount paid for the specific service in question.
We exclude liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, including loss of sentimental value, loss of use, or loss of any other item arising from the provision of our services — except where such exclusion is not permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sakda Kala and its staff from any claims, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or from your use of our Website in a manner that causes harm to a third party.
12. Termination
Either party may withdraw from a service arrangement before work has commenced, without penalty, by giving written or verbal notice.
Once work has begun, if you wish to withdraw, you will be charged for the work completed to that point. We will return the watch in the condition it was when work stopped.
We reserve the right to decline or discontinue a service if we believe the work cannot be completed to a standard we are comfortable with, or if the customer acts in a manner that is disrespectful or harmful to our staff.
13. Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us first at [email protected] so we can work toward a resolution informally.
If informal resolution is not possible, disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in Chonburi Province, Thailand.
14. General Provisions
These Terms, together with any written quotation or service agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and Sakda Kala in respect of the services described.
If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision does not waive our right to do so in future.
You may not assign your rights under these Terms to a third party without our written consent.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of our Website or services after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
For significant changes, we will make a reasonable effort to notify regular customers directly.
